Took me a loooonngggg time to reach this. xD
Hahaha.
Been neglecting LJ for blog recently... not that I've been doing a lot of blogging, anyway. Should I fangirl for the 100th post? Lol. Nah, I'll talk about something else altogether.
Let's see... I've done my second recording session yesterday morning. :D And I'm so happy with it I can jump for joy. Sure, it's not like there were no hiccups, but it was all solved thanks to some efficient help I've gotten from a classmate who came to help out, and of course, the band who came down.
So... problem. Well, the session should have started at 10am sharp; being the sort of person I am there should be no problems regarding punctuality. But, someone (a graduating student, probably) apparently booked a studio for an overnight session, so half of the equipments I needed wasn't available till about 10.30am. To make things worse, I was told by the supervisor in charge that other students who checked out equipment before me actually broke some of the stuff, so now we have lesser equipments. What was originally planned (by me) to be 8 microphone stands had to be cut down to 6. I had an insane urge to kill the previous students because this would mean that all my previous night's planning had gone down the drain; I needed to re-plan how I should have all the microphones set up right away, without having any other additional time to consider many things. It also meant that wanting to try out the new stuff that I've researched the previous night was more or less not possible, because there weren't enough microphone stands and microphones to go around.
By the time we finished miking up the drums, which was the first thing I had to record, it was already, say, 11.15am? Thanks to my classmate we managed to make use of what little microphone stands we had and set up everything more or less similar to how I've initially planned; I stubbornly refused to sacrifice the stand meant for the ambient microphone even though ambient miking in that small studio was probably not necessary, with all that resonance and everything, but no one has tried it yet and I wanted to know what it would sound like, so that was one stand down.
Somehow or other we made do with the other stands, though I didn't get to mic up the cymbals with an SM81 (again, no one in my class has tried that yet but I wanted to know how it would be like) since there wasn't enough stands to go around, but oh well, maybe next time. I'll keep that in mind. xD Hahaha.
So we started recording. After all that trouble we had with the lack of microphone stands, I have to say that the drums sound pretty good. Also, the band played quite well. We even had time to record another song. xD One three minute plus, and the other six minute plus. In the end the band decided on the six minute plus one even though they were all for the three minute song, because they said "shorter song to play, less mistakes". But one "no, I'm not singing that song" from the vocalist, and that's it, they all settled for the six minutes one. xD Lol. We only recorded the drums and bass for the three minutes one, anyway.
Hiccups from the band were minimal; drummer was good; no mistakes this time round, and we took only one take for both songs for his part. Bassist was a little... never mind, but not too bad nevertheless: two to three takes for the first song, and I think only one take for the second. xD Guitarist was doing fine until I accidentally pressed the delete track key. -__- So that was my fault. Hahaha. xD So, because of me... Two takes for the second song. O.O
Oh yeah, and vocalist, one take... although it was pretty rushed. When it was her turn we only had about 15 minutes left before pack up time. xD Tested the volumes, let her practice twice, and voila~~ One take, one take~~
It sounded pretty okay to me, but I dunno, she might want to redo it, so I might have to have another session. xD But I'm a happy person. All that's left is the backup vocals~
Shall get started on my logbook right away~ And of course, I still have to study for the theory test, which has been postponed to next Monday because we haven't covered decibels. -_- Lol.
This entry has gotten long. O.O
That's it for today, then. xD Haha.

Secondly:
I'm late, but I'm sure many of you already know that YesAsia links for Hey! Say! JUMP's Your Seed single is out:
Limited Edition here and Regular Edition here. Thirdly:
DVD release of Kurosagi's movie on CDjapan which can be preordered here.
And lastly...
Well, nothing much has been going on lately for me. Just mugging real hard for the upcoming theory test that's coming up soon. What's interesting would be what happened yesterday, I guess? I did my recording assignment. Everything was pretty smooth: Drummer made a few mistakes but played well nevertheless, and my guitarist and bassist were wonderful. What's left now will be the vocalist part, as well as the drums retake~ Just one more session in the studio should settle everything. After that I can start mixing~ And that is the part I worry most.
-_-
But oh well... I'll just worry about one thing at a time for now. (>.<)

The reasons why I totally love Tegoshi. xD
FANS OF TEGOSHI, DO NOT MISS THIS.
Click here to watch Tegoshi on ItteQ: Plop in the Pond contest at Austria. Subtitles credits to newshfan, and thanks to chillyazn8196 for uploading the video. xD
I love how Tegoshi blurts things out so bluntly and how he annoys everyone with his coolness, and how he made Becky and the others go "He's so cool!!" When he was snowboarding~~
I love his "WASSHOI!!!!", and the way he fell into the pond, and the way he scurried into the hot tub immediately after that. xD
I love his look of concentration when he was practicing skiing across the pond, and the look of utter joy when he succeeded in his second attempt. I also love how he guffaws like a big idiot when the people who went to Austria with him fell into the pond.
I say this again: TEGOSHI FANS, YOU REALLY SHOULDN'T MISS THIS.
